The Reach invites young people aged 14 to 24 to take part in UnMasked, a series of sessions on how the arts have been at the forefront of social change movements.
More intensive workshops will be offered in August for those young people wanting to participate in the development of a collaborative theatre piece that includes opportunities for performances from solo to group. This YAAH troupe will work together to identify issues of importance to them and then select a theme. Through sessions in mask making, dance and theatre the theme will be explored and developed into a piece that will be performed for the community this fall. The YAAH project, supported by the Telus Vancouver Community Board and Prospera Credit Union, seeks to give young people the tools to address issues through the arts while developing their artistic, leadership, team building and organizational skills.
