Takao Tanabe: Chronicles of Form and Place features numerous selections from the artist’s personal collection, the exhibition is a rare glimpse into the creative practice of one of British Columbia’s most important artists, Takao Tanabe.

The intent of the exhibition is to chronicle the artist’s career through his drawing practice – often the starting point for paintings. The exhibition examines critically, how the artist has changed, adapted and/or reflected upon his subjects and the use of media to render a sense of “place” within his artwork.
