Artists often work in solitude, thus missing out on connections, inspiration, collaboration, and feedback from others that can enrich their own art practice. Open Studio began at The Reach in November 2023 with the intent of filling a need in our community for a space where artists have access to a place to work, while surrounded by other artists. The aim is to create an environment to foster relationships where local artists can gather to participate in parallel creativity.
Parallel is the Open Studio Collective’s inaugural exhibition featuring seven artists from the program. These participants have been attending over the past year and the exhibition is to highlight the importance of shared creative spaces.
Open Studio, facilitated by local artist Jennifer Shepit, runs every third Saturday of the month. All artists over 18 are welcome! More information and upcoming dates here.
