The Darkroom Group represents a collective of experienced photographers dedicated to preserving the
heritage and practice of traditional film and darkroom practices. Membership ranges from the
Richmond/Vancouver area to the Fraser Valley.
For us, photography is more than just capturing an image; it is a deeply immersive craft. In an era dominated by instant digital imagery, the meticulous nature of traditional photography offers a uniquely rewarding experience. The challenges of finding compelling perspectives, processing film, and crafting gelatin-silver prints or alternative processed prints are what make this art form fulfilling. Photography from our perspective is not about convenience—it is about the journey, the hands-on engagement, and the satisfaction of creating something truly tangible.
